At Pro Travel Agent, I have a great skill in finding the right holiday for the right people - I know which operators to work with to find the best-matched holiday for each individual client. Pairing the right holiday with the right client is fundamental for client satisfaction - holidays are certainly not a one size fits all - quite the opposite in fact! With this skill, I have lots of very happy customers who use me time and time again!
About Me
Unlucky for some (but not for me!) 13 years\' experience.
I got bitten by the travel bug when I went to Sri Lanka to volunteer in an orphanage when I was 18 years old. On that trip I spent 6 months in Sri Lanka and then instead of returning home as originally planned, I travelled on to Java, Australia, Thailand and South Africa before returning home just in time to start my degree in Geography. Truly bitten by the travel bug, I have since taken any and every opportunity to travel and see the world.
I started my career in travel working for a long-haul tailor-made specialist, then moved to Australia for 4 years to work for an inbound tour operator planning people\'s holidays around Australia and New Zealand. I returned to the UK in 2011 to do a Masters in Tourism Management and Marketing and then worked for a small independent agency. With my wealth of travel experience and knowledge, I decided that the next step was to go self-employed - I\'m loving running my own business - I love to have the flexibility and freedom to do it my way, whilst having the backing and support of the wider team at Independent Travel Experts - I totally have the best of both worlds and am extremely happy!
The reason I love working in the travel industry is perhaps cliché, but travel is my passion - I have loved to travel all throughout my adult life, so I\'d be crazy not to make a career out of it! Naturally I like to be taken away by suppliers, operators and tourist boards to sample the destinations that I sell, but most of all I love to find my clients their ideal holiday and hear great feedback on their return - I want my clients to love travel as much as I do.
Speciality Areas
My greatest knowledge lies in long-haul destinations, so I love to tailor-make long-haul itineraries. I feel that I can add lots of value, experience and expertise to these itineraries. I have lived in Australia and New Zealand, and Portugal, so my knowledge of these places is extremely strong so I can give lots of insider tips and tricks to my clients.
I love Sri Lanka because I went on a life-changing journey when I volunteered at the orphanage.
I love Australia because it is such a vast and varied destination.
I love South East Asia because I love Buddhist culture, the food, and the price tag.
I love the Caribbean because I love the music and rum!
I love Portugal because there are hundreds of beach coves to discover... I could go on (and on and on!)
